Preparing to Analyse magazine articles

I have now analysed my four magazine front covers.
The next thing I need to do is analyse 4 magazine articles. I will be analysing magazine articles of different lengths i.e double spread and single spread. I will need to analyse magazine articles from 2 magazines of my genre and 2 from different genres.
I will probably analyse articles from RWD and then pick another genre of magazine like Kerrang so I can identify the different layout styles and language used.

Analysis of Magazine Covers

I have to analyse four magazine covers in order to get ideas of how to create my own music magazine front cover. I have looked at the front covers of two magazines; Rolling Stones and Top of the Pops. The Rolling Stones magazine is for a rock music genre and contrasts with my grime genre. Similarily Top of the Pops is a pop magazine which features different genres of music. I have chosen to analyse music magazines of different genres in order to explore a variety of music magazine genres. This will help me identify key differences in personal tastes. I am also going to analyse two front covers of my chosen music genre; grime, so I can identify aspects of current grime magazines like RWD, that attract my target audience.

Introduction to AS media coursework

I feel quite excited about producing my music magazine as I will be able to express my creative skills and ICT skills through this project. I will also be able to express my passion for Grime music and I hope my magazine will make this music genre widely known across the nation. I have already started planning my magazine by doing the Welcome Day task. I have already decided on the genre;grime, the target audience and I have started to think about the cost of the magazine based on my target audience. I have looked at some other magazines with the same genre .I need to look at magazines with different genres i.e rock and pop and compare them.
I also need to read the course booklet thoroughly.
